1. Determine the thickness of the metal you usually want to cut.
The first factor that needs to be determined is the thickness of the metal that is usually cut. Most of the plasma cutting machine power supply is through the cutting capacity and current size quota. Therefore, if you usually cut thin metals, you should consider a plasma cutting machine with a low current. Also, although small machines cut metal of a specific thickness, the quality of the cutting may not be guaranteed, on the contrary, you may also get almost no cutting results, and there will be useless metal residue. Each machine will have the optimal cutting thickness range set – make sure the settings are right for your requirements. In general, the plasma cutting machine selection must be multiplied by 60% on the basis of the extreme cutting thickness, so that the normal cutting thickness of the equipment (the cutting effect can be guaranteed). Of course, the thinner the cutting effect and speed, the faster, the thicker the cutting effect and cutting speed will decrease.
2. Select the load sustainability rate of the equipment .
If you are going to cut for a long time or cut automatically, make sure to check the workload sustainability of the machine. The load sustainability rate is simply the continuous working time before the equipment works until it overheats and needs to be cooled. Workload continuity is typically determined as a percentage based on a standard of 10 minutes. Let me give you an example. A 60% workload cycle of 100 amps means that you can cut for 6 minutes (100% per 10 minutes) at a current output of 100 amps. The higher the workload cycle, the longer you can continue cutting.
3.This kind of machine can provide the choice of starting at high frequency?
Most plasma cutting machines will have a guide arc, using high frequency to guide the current through the air. However, high frequencies can interfere with nearby electronic devices, including computers. Therefore, a start-up that can eliminate these high-frequency potential problems may be quite advantageous.
4. Comparison of loss and service life
Plasma cutting torch on a variety of external parts need to be replaced, usually we call it consumables. The machine you need to choose should use the least consumables. Fewer consumables means cost savings. Two of them need to be replaced: electrodes and nozzles.
